Sami Koskinen, Director, Stakeholder Relations, Finnish Tax Administration

Sami Koskinen has worked in international corporate taxation and transfer pricing for over 20 years, both in private and public sectors. He has also served as a fiscal counsellor for the Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union in Brussels. He is currently employed by the Finnish Tax Administration as a director on stakeholder relations.

Sandra Esteves, Senior Director Global Tax, Talend

Sandra Esteves is the Head of Global Tax at Talend, a leading Technology company and a leader in data integration and data integrity. Before joining Talend, she worked for 9 years for SABIC, a leading chemicals company where she headed the Global Transfer Pricing and Business Operating Model department and spent 13 years in the international tax and transfer pricing departments of EY and Deloitte in Portugal and Spain. She has specialized in international tax and transfer pricing since 2002 and her experience covers a wide range of industries including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining & resources and telecommunications. Sandra is also an active member of the Board of the EMEA Tax Executives Institute (TEI.org), a diverse, inclusive member-based organization, dedicated exclusively to the professional needs of the in-house tax community worldwide.

Ruud van der Hoeven, Head of Tax Europe, Middle East & North America, Johnson Electric

Ruud van der Hoeven, Dutch national, is Head of Tax Europe, Middle East and North America at Johnson Electric, in Murten Switzerland and oversees key aspects of Global direct and indirect tax, tax compliance, audit defence and tax accounting reporting to the Global CFO and advising the Board. At present Ruud has 23 people working in the Tax Department. Previously, Ruud worked with Edwards Lifesciences (Head of Tax & Treasury Outside USA) in Nyon Switzerland, Integra LifeSciences (Head of Tax Outside USA) based in Dublin, trained in Deloitte (Dublin and Amsterdam) and Arthur Andersen (Amsterdam). Ruud holds a Master’s Law Degree LL.M specialising in Taxation and Corporate Law, from the University of Utrecht and a Certificate in Banking from the Dutch Institute for Banks. Ruud is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) of the Irish Taxation Institute, a Member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (DATA), a Member and Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA and FCCA) and Member of the Tax Executive Institute (TEI), including TEI Mentor, coaching other TEI Members. Before coming to Switzerland in 2012, Ruud has lived ten years in Ireland and before that in the Netherlands. Ruud is van der Hoeven is frequent speaker, panelist and chairman of both Direct and Indirect Tax Summits and editor of the R&D Professional Tax Guide in Ireland and advisor re Beps 2.0 implementation.    

Richard Grotendorst, Vice President, Group Taxes, Amer Sports

Richard Grotendorst is the Vice President, Group Taxes of Amer Sports, a global sporting goods company with some of the world’s most recognized and respected sports and outdoor brands. Before joining Amer Sports in 2012, Richard worked for Honeywell, a leading global technology company where he joined from the international tax department of PwC. He has an MSc in Economics and LL.M. (Law) from Rijksunversiteit Groningen.

Anita Mikkonen, Director Group Tax Transformation, Swiss Re

Anita has over 15 years experience in tax and finance. She worked in PwC and since 2018 at Swiss Re as Head of Tax Asia, Tax Director Corporate Solutions and Interim CFO Corporate Solutions before becoming Director Group Tax Transformation.

Ravid Barzilay, VP Global Tax, Teva Pharmaceuticals

Ravid has been a tax executive at Teva since 2008. He is highly active in leading the tax function and is involved in many external tax forums and groups.

He previously worked at KPMG as a senior consultant. Ravid went to the University of Haifa.

Hanja De Beer, Director, Tax Transformation, Ryan

As a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, tax, and technology, Hanja has worked on a range of projects, including process/systems improvement and design, implementation, software development, validation/testing, product management, fiscal management, and business transformation to name a few. Her key driver is to provide clients with a complete solution that is smart, scalable, and sustainable using structured change methodology to give visibility and clarity.

Ancuta Cotuna, Head of Enterprise Management, Taxually

Ancuta started working in tax in 2008 in PwC Romania covering all types of taxes and after three years focused on indirect taxation. She joined KPMG in 2014 in their Global compliance center in Budapest, Hungary where she worked with Mike, Fergal and Stef (founders of Taxually). As such from 2020 , she joined Taxually and is putting together the Enterprise management team.

Xin Liu, Senior Manager – Transfer Pricing, Europe, Teva Pharmaceuticals

Xin Liu joined Teva in 2020 and is responsible for transfer pricing matters in Europe in all phases of the transfer pricing life cycle, ranging from planning, compliance to dispute prevention and resolution. Prior to joining Teva, Xin has 9 years of international tax and transfer pricing experience in Big 4s in the UK, with a focus on due diligence reviews as well as business restructuring and integration from a transfer pricing perspective.

Karine Halimi-Guez, VP Head of Tax, Booking.com

Karine has been an in-house tax practitioner for 27 years, advising multinationals in all areas of international taxation. She has most recently joined Booking.com as their Head of Tax. She is a also a frequent speaker at international conferences and a former lecturer to master students at the University of Paris-Dauphine. She currently lives in the Netherlands.

Johann Muller, Senior Transfer Pricing Expert

My passions are tax and teaching. I love reading and understanding treaties, laws and directives; seeing how they are shaped in case law and then explaining all that in clear, simple terms with references to real life practical examples. I also work as an interim in-house tax specialist during several months of the year. Assignments differ, but are usually focussed on transfer pricing, sometimes in connection with tax audits.

Karl Berlin, Vice President, Head of Tax, Ørsted A/S

Karl Berlin is Head of Tax at Ørsted, a global leader within renewable energy. Karl has an LL.M. from Uppsala University, Sweden, and has worked over 15 years with international tax for large multinationals. Karl is a recognized tax leader with special focus on sustainable tax.

Andrea Lee, Andrea Lee, Tax Manager, RBI Retail Innovation, part of Raiffeisen Bank International AG 

Andrea was born in Czech Republic. She studied University of Economics in Prague and Postgraduate of International Tax Law in Vienna, Austria. During her studies she joined Horwath TPA and worked in Czech, Slovakia and Austria with main responsibility in M&A and international tax advisory. In 2005 she was posted to Shanghai (still with Horwath) as the Head of Representative Office. In 2008 she joined Deloitte and moved to HCMC, Vietnam as Tax Director where she took over responsibility for transfer pricing topics. In 2011 she returned to Vienna to work for Deloitte, during which time she was seconded for 3 months to Brussels to further develop her skills in TP of financial transactions.

In 2014 Andrea left consulting industry and joined Erste Group where she assumed different roles including Head of Group cost controlling, project controlling and transfer pricing.

Since January 2022 Andrea works in Raiffeisenbank Group as Tax Manager in RBI Retail Innovation subsidiary.

Reijo Salo, VP Corporate Tax, Fortum

Reijo is heading Fortum’s tax team. He focuses mostly on strategic planning, tax policies, tax governance and tax transparency. He supports and gets support from B Team and European Business Tax Forum (EBTF).

Barend Broen, Global Tax Director, Mambu

Barend is currently head of tax and treasury at Mambu.

In addition, he is a lecturer on transfer pricing at Erasmus School of Law.

Previously, Barend was a Transfer Pricing Director at Shell, and a Senior Tax Director Transfer Pricing at Unilever.
